For a long time, fresh water for the reservoir pressure maintenance system and technological needs of the facilities of oil production shop No. 2 of Rechitsaneft Oil and Gas Production Department came from Yakimova Sloboda water intake. These are biologically treated effluents of SvetlogorskKhimvolokno OAO which are corrosive. Therefore, certain expenses for water preparation were required: it was treated with a special reagent, which was fed into the pressure pipeline. According to Vasily Frolov, Deputy Head and Chief Engineer of Rechitsaneft, in addition to preparation costs, water quality control had showed its unsuitability for use in hydraulic fracturing operations due to excessive concentrations of sulfate ions.
