Methods and technologies of oil production and well testing

Main directions of the Institute's activities in the field of methods and technologies of oil production:

•   development, adaptation and improvement of technical methods and technologies, designed to prevent asphaltene-resin-paraffin deposits, salt deposits, corrosion of subsurface equipment and land communication lines;

•   development, adaptation and improvement of equipment for dual completion of 2 horizons by 1 well with regard to oil production, water injection and also production and injection;

•   organization and support of field tests of new and adapted technical methods and technologies in the area of oil production;

•   research studies over the artificial lift and free-flow well stock: flow tests, study of  gas factor values of oil production and gas-condensate wells, assessment of sound velocity in casing annulus and determination of real fluid level, steady-state testing of wells and selection of optimum operation condition, testing of dual production wells;

•   engineering in the area of subsurface equipment selection, equipment performance analysis and optimization of well operating conditions;

•   study of  corrosion resistance of  pipe steel and other materials using special laboratory test stand, simulating well conditions;

•   development of controlling documents, standards.

Gravitation filter works implementation to protect esp pump from mechanical impurities in well №312 of Rechitsa field

The stand to simulate and to study corrosion processes in downhole conditions.

Main directions of research:

  • development and selection in laboratory conditions of chemical reagent compositions for production stimulation, hydraulic fracturing, water shut-off, conformance control and enhanced sweep efficiency;
  • indicator method of performance control of water shut-off and acid stimulation;
  • filtration studies defining porosity and permeability properties of core material under reservoir conditions, oil displacement coefficients and phase permeabilities, testing of compositions for enhanced oil recovery, oil production stimulation, water zone isolation as well as process fluids of various purpose;
  • development of integrated technologies of oil production stimulation;
  • tracer studies for evaluation of current geophysical properties of reservoirs.

Engineering-technological support:

  • commercial introduction of developed equipment, technologies and compositions;
  • adaptation of well-known technological solutions to specific conditions of oil fields.
